M Perfect Cover BB Cream

Filed under: Makeup — moonstruckinjersey @ 9:23 AM

http://www.misshaus.com – $29.00

I have never had an interest in BB creams as I don’t have a skin problem.  I didn’t feel that I needed a blemish balm, but I educated myself anyway and was very surprised to find out the BB creams are treatments.

I received a sample tube of a well known brand and tried it.  It was very runny, I didn’t like the smell and it was gray toned??!!.  It was not a good start and not something I would purchase.  I next tried a drugstore brand and the texture and smell were better, but  it changed the color of my makeup.  Back it went.

When I received my GlossyBox last month there was a travel size tube of M Perfect Cover BB Cream in #23, natural beige, in the box.  I had never heard of Missha, which is a Korean company, before so I was excited to give it a try.  I discovered that I liked everything about it.

From the website –

Blemish Balm, also called BB Cream, is known to have been formulated as an after-treatment cream to help patients who have gone through laser skin surgery to soothe and regenerate the skin.

The M Perfect Cover BB Cream gives an even and natural-looking coverage with the soothing, moisturising properties of a cream. It is suitable for all skin types including acne-prone skin, and can be used as a makeup base or foundation.

Whitening + Anti-Wrinkle + UV Protection (SPF 42 PA+++)

In addition to the big pluses above, I found that I liked the texture, almost like a whipped mousse.  I liked that there is only a slight scent and I was lucky that the product I received was perfect for my skin tone.  It did not change the color of my make up and best of all it hid the sun damage on my face.  NOTHING has ever covered the sun damage without looking like I had a pound of concealer or foundation on.

Missha makes three different BB Creams and I liked this one so well that I may be trying the other two.

Live and learn:-))

Revlon Colorstay Top Coat Take 2

Filed under: Nails — moonstruckinjersey @ 7:51 AM

A while ago I posted about Revlon Colorstay nail polish.  I had spoke about how I did buy the polishes, but that I started using the base and top coats with my own polish and I had amazing results.

Well, time has passed and I am still getting amazing results.  I change my nails polish every week, not because I have to any longer, but because I want to.  The young woman who does my manicures cannot believe when I walk in a week later and the manicure she did a week before is still looking beautiful.

Numerous ladies in my neighborhood thought I had started wearing gels and where do I get them done?

Surprise.  Try it!

tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof SmolderEYES Eyeliner

Filed under: Makeup — moonstruckinjersey @ 9:24 AM

http://www.qvc.com – $35.00

I have really fallen in love with tarte as it is a line of product that for me, so far, delivers as advertised.  I especially like the Amazonian Clay products which are great for the skin and eco-conscious as well.

These Amazonian Clay liners provide nourishment to the lids, are an easy application and have long wear.  The pencils have a soft texture and pure pigments for a bold look.  Use them along the upper and lower lash lines for a bold look or use the smudger for  a softer look.  The liners wear well and stay put – don’t migrate, smear or wear away.  They absolutely are waterproof.  As I have mentioned several times in past posts, I have allergies all year round so I am always searching for products that do not cry off.  This stays put.

When I saw the new trio of SmolderEYES eyeliners, I had to purchase to add to my growing collection.  The colors in this collection are copper, palm green and fig.

These liners will bring you many compliments.  Enjoy!

Can you say Fajita Frittata 3 times fast??

Filed under: Recipes — moonstruckinjersey @ 8:47 AM

from thebestfoodblog.com

Have left over chicken and not sure what to do with it?? Do what I did.. Make a Chicken Fajita Frittata!   Seems like Friday night is a popular night for roast chicken, so when a weekend brunch comes along why not use the inevitable left over chicken for a quick and fun take on a brunch classic?
I have been kind of obsessing over frittatas lately, They are so easy, pretty healthy, and pretty cheap to make too. With a little cash you can feed like 8 people. That is not too shabby if you are counting your pennies!
So what I did was saute slices of different colored bell peppers and onion in my cast iron pan with a little olive oil, and when they started to develop color I added in the meat I had pulled apart from one chicken breast. I seasoned the mix with Adobo, chili powder, salt, and pepper.

While that cooked and the chicken got heated back up, I whisked a dozen eggs with a handful of chopped cilantro, a little more adobo and chili powder, and a splash of cold water.
When the peppers and onion were tender, and the chicken was hot, I took the mix out and placed them aside. I added a little more olive oil to the pan and then poured the eggs in.
I took the chicken and veg out so that the egg could set in the pan a bit and firm up for a few minutes so that all the chicken and veg don’t sink to the bottom.
When the eggs are just a little bit firm, add the chicken mix back into the pan evenly throughout the eggs, and stick it in an oven that has been preheated to 375. It will take about 20-30 minutes for the frittata to cook, and when it’s done it will be golden on top and will have puffed up and look huge. Don’t worry if it looks lopsided or strange in anyway. It’s just air and the whole thing will deflate as it cool.
I didn’t have any, but this would have gone great with a little Avocado on top, or a little hot sauce!

That’s it! Enjoy your frittata, enjoy your weekend, and don’t forget to share!

XOXO -P

T3 Hot Rollers w Clips

From:  http://www.qvc.com – $89.00

I own a T3 hair dryer and flat iron and think they are fabulous appliances; so, when I saw these I had to give them a try. I like the QVC configuration because not only does it include the base, charging cord, 4 1.25” ceramic rollers and 4 1.50” ceramic rollers, but it comes with a quilted case for storage.  You may also purchase more rollers in different sizes in sets of two rollers and two clips for $25.00.  I just purchased 2 1.75” ceramic rollers on Amazon.com.

These rollers heat to 250 degrees and the dots will change from red to white when ready.  If a roller does not heat it is because it is not on the base correctly.  Remove the roller from the base and position again. I like the tourmaline concept of all the T3 products, but the fact that these rollers are smooth vs the traditional hot roller with the little nubs was a big plus in my mind.  In my 30 years of using hot rollers, it makes no difference who makes the rollers, those little nubs make your hair frizzy.  Just not a sexy look.  The T3 hot rollers have a flocked velvet finish that smoothes the hair.

After you wash your hair and it is still damp, use whatever pump up the volume product you like.  I use Shu Uemura Art of Hair Ample Angora which is a volumizing foam.  I have fine, used to be curly now is wave-y hair; so, I use a large round boar’s hair brush when I dry my hair.  For me, it is all about no frizz.  Then I use the T3 hot rollers.

Heat up the T3 rollers making sure every red dot turns white.  Take a section of hair and MIST, not saturate, it.  I use Oribe Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray.  Use your favorite heat styling product or plain water in a pinch.  Roll the section and secure with a clip.  Clip at the back of the roller.  This will stabilize the roller and you will have no ridges in your hair from the clip.  As I mentioned before, the rollers heat up to 250 degrees and stay hot for twenty minutes.  If the heat is too much for your scalp, but a square of bath tissue between the roller and you.

Leave the rollers in until the white dots turn red and a few minutes longer – about 30 minutes plus total if you can.  The smooth rollers and tourmaline technology will give you soft, shiny and bouncy hair.  And NO frizz.

A great purchase.

I have been debating whether to cancel my BirchBox subscription for a few months now as I was getting sampled out.  Most of the samples were of products I already used or products I either liked or not so much.  Just nothing exciting in the boxes. The decision to cancel was made when I got my first GlossyBox.

“Through our monthly GLOSSYBOX, we introduce you to the most exciting brands that we have forged strong relationships with on a global stage. Our GLOSSYMag leverages the power of our community of beauty lovers from all four corners of the globe to bring you the most cutting-edge trends. Together, we provide the most desirable platform for you to access everything you need to know about beauty in this moment.”

The first box lived up to that statement.  I got five travel size products from companies I have never heard about.  Very intrigued!I received Global Keratin Shampoo and Conditoner, Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water, Kryolan for GlossyBox lipstick and Missha BB Cream.

Can’t wait to try and review them all.

Sign up you all……….five travel size products from around the world for $20.00 a month.  Perfect size for really trying the products.
