My youngest son got married last September.
It was a perfect wedding, a perfect day.
Of course, it was pure craziness leading to that day! Once the day was picked, there was a justice of the peace to find. The perfect venue had to be found along with the perfect meal planned. The perfect cake had to be made, flowers had to be ordered and the perfect outfits had to be found.
There were parties to be had and witnesses to be asked to “stand up” with them. There were rings to purchase and a photographer to hire. There was a ceremony to be planned and the moms needed to be asked to each do a reading. Invitations had to go out……..and through it all the emails were flying!
They decided to get married in Central Park. They live in The City, so how perfect. They decided to have a dinner at our favorite restaurant – Il Bagato.
It was all falling into place until the day before the wedding when the skies opened and the weather people said it would continue through the next day. No park wedding, but Il Bagato came through and a room was decorated with white lights and flowers and candles and looked beautiful.
The wedding ceremony was perfect and the couple looked stunning and it was so evident to anyone watching that this couple was and is very much committed to each other.
The sun came out so pictures got to be taken in Central Park, perfect.
I felt so blessed to be able to participate in this day as my son legally married his long time partner in the Empire State.
Happy PRIDE weekend everyone!
Peace
